Weather. Hot sunny, wind, north westerly 5mph

A typically hot May morning at the lighthouse, conditions were almost perfect apart from the heat haze that made viewing any distant birds quite difficult,The sea was as still as a mill pond the only notable birds being 3 Sandwich Tern  which were heard before they were seen with their harsh "kierr-k" call, At Dove point 30 + Dunlin  along with 3 Ringed plover spent high tide on the western groyne, 

Little Owl, GC

The Little Owl that has been heard calling near Lingham lane over the last month or so could be heard calling this morning as far away as the old Brick pit and on closer inspection could briefly be seen from Lingham bridge,

Near the Disused golf course 1 Lesser Whitethroat could be seen along the hedgerows, 2 other Lesser Whitethroat were seen at the paddocks briefly before flying into cover on the nature trail , 

4 Wheatear of the 9 in the area were of the Greenland  race , They could identified by strong buff colour underneath and larger size, 

Other birds in the area .10 Swift , Hirundines included, 15 Swallow,  3 House Martin, 4 Sand Martin,  Raptors included, 1 sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel,  1 Buzzard, Warblers, 3 Reed warbler, 3 Sedge warbler, 2 Blackcap, 6 Common Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff. Passerines Reed Bunting, Stonechat, 1 Yellow Wagtail flying south over paddocks, None Passerine 4 Greylag  park lane, 3 Grey Heron park lane , 3 Shelduck 1 on sea 2 in Kerr's field, 

Other news, A swarm off Honey Bees were in the back of the buildings at Lingmere fisheries
